Forbidden Fruit Series: south figs fire
Forbidden Fruit Series: south figs fire
To the ancient Greeks, figs were a symbol of the rich and of nobility. The fig was also associated with the goddess Demeter, as she made a gift of fresh figs to the Athenians to celebrate her daughter's return from the underworld.
The “Forbidden Fruit” Series explores the myths, legends, and literature of many cultures. Certain fruits are believed to have or to bestow special powers ― they impart forbidden knowledge, heighten physical prowess, and stimulate the senses.
