Dark Matter prints - phase 7 (front view)
The Dark Matter sculptures trace the process of going through and healing from heartbreak. This sculpture is the final phase, entitled “uncontainable”. It shows the heart having regained its strength, bursting through the thick, black crust that had encased it for so long.

The title “Dark Matter” makes a connection between the astrophysical phenomena and human emotions. Dark matter can’t be measured, seen, or touched; we only can infer its existence based on the gravitational effect it has on other astral bodies.
I see emotions in a similar way: we feel them, but can’t actually touch them; we only know of an emotion’s presence because of the physiological and mental effects it creates in us.
