Hello, Sarah Dudley here!

I’m a Canadian artist based in Berlin and have been making paintings, original prints and sculptures professionally for over 20 years. My work invites you to step into fields of bold, saturated colour that speak to the heart as well as the eyes.

Through artist residencies and printmaking projects, I’ve lived and worked in North America, Europe, southern Africa, and Australia. Living in so many different places sharpened my sensitivity to the atmosphere of a place, the rhythms of daily life, and the quiet details that are easy to overlook. That same sensitivity inspires and guides my work in the studio.

Discover what lies beneath

Jewel toned paintings with semi-abstract forms take you on an inward path to explore all that's intangible, invisible, and a little bit mysterious—like memory, emotion, mythology, particle and astrophysics, and cosmology. In other words, the unseen forces that shape who we are.

If you're longing for something deeper than what you see every day, my work speaks to that part of you. It's like a steady, quiet companion who reflects you back to yourself.

Beyond the studio

When I'm not making art, you can find me outside, riding my bike or training for a marathon. In the evenings I love to cook up a storm of vegan food and share it with friends, followed by some dark chocolate and an episode of Star Trek or RuPaul’s Drag Race.

In 2002 I completed my Masters at the Tamarind Institute and University of New Mexico. My work is exhibited worldwide and has been collected by private individuals and public institutions.

Let's keep in touch!

Every week, the people on my email list get a glimpse into works-in-progress, studio views, behind-the-scenes insights, and previews of upcoming exhibitions. If you’d like to hear about things before they’re online or on social media, be sure to sign up! And when you do, you'll get a free digital catalogue of the Forbidden Fruit Series.

If you're interested in exploring the work even more deeply, come by my space on Patreon, where you'll experience the most personal artwork, and reflections from my sketchbooks that don't get shown to the public.
