SCULPTURES // PAPER GEOMETRY

Für den Text auf Deutsch bitte hier klicken. The first of these works began with an act of frustration: dissatisfied with a drawing, I cut it into pieces and began rearranging the pieces.

The resulting collages and paper sculptures are composed of cut-up drawings, combining fragments of colour, line, and form into new relationships. I return to this process whenever I feel stuck.
The clean lines and geometric structures offer a counterpoint to the density of my paintings, freeing me from my usual expectations and allowing me to reset through a process of simplification and play.
